How it works
A short conversation about your aims — lifestyle, investment, relocation or commercial.
We work across a hand-picked network of the Algarve’s leading agents and developers, including off-market opportunities, and introduce you where your brief is best served.
Legal, tax, licensing, banking, settling in — we introduce the professionals who make a Portuguese purchase seamless, and we remain your point of contact throughout.
Who we work with
Relocating to or buying a home in the Algarve — from first viewing trip to keys and beyond.
Rental yield, development and structure — including investment-route residency options and, with select partners, settlement in cryptocurrency via a regulated Portuguese bank.
Access to qualified international buyers from our UK, Gulf and resident networks.
Our Partners
Monte Cristo Partners works with a hand-picked network of the Algarve’s leading estate agents, developers, law firms and accountants. Agents licence us to market selected properties; professionals work with our clients on preferential, transparent terms. The network is the practice — it is why we are called Partners.
Partner names are shared with clients in the course of an introduction.
Off-market access
We hold a small number of off-market opportunities at any time, including development land and commercial assets. These are shared only with verified buyers.
Nothing is published — on this site, or anywhere else.

Lawrence has spent ten years in UK hospitality and five in business consultancy. He owns and operates three boutique hotels in the north-west of England, and lives in the Algarve — where his second chapter began the way many of his clients’ will: with a licensed short-let portfolio in Lagos, navigated from the buyer’s chair. The legal work, the tax questions, the AL licence, the bank that wants one more document. A boutique hotel development of his own, here in the Algarve, is in negotiation now.
Introduction is not a new trade for him. For more than five years he has introduced buyers for some of the north-west of England’s biggest property developers, and he keeps a standing network of property and contacts in Dubai — the reason this practice reaches Gulf buyers as naturally as British ones.
He knows which agents answer the phone in August, which lawyers move at the pace of a deal, and which advisers are worth a client’s time. Monte Cristo Partners is built around them — a small practice, relationships rather than listings, run behind its quiet front door on AI systems Lawrence engineers himself. Nothing slips.
He is also the founder of Monte Cristo Racquet Club, a private padel community in the Algarve — the same idea, applied to sport. He takes on a few clients at a time, and answers his own correspondence.
