Lawrence Thomas is a UK hospitality group operator and an Algarve resident. He owns and operates licensed guest accommodation in Lagos, and has navigated the Portuguese purchase from the buyer’s chair — the legal work, the tax questions, the AL licence, the bank that wants one more document.
That experience is the foundation of the practice. He knows which agents answer the phone in August, which lawyers move at the pace of a deal, and which advisers are worth a client’s time — and he has built Monte Cristo Partners around them. A small practice, built on relationships rather than listings.
He is also the founder of Monte Cristo Racquet Club, a private padel community in the Algarve — the same idea, applied to sport. He takes on a small number of clients at a time, and answers his own correspondence.
